About the App
Welcome to StringSensei. We have redesigned guitar learning specifically for VoiceOver — an audio-first experience built to help visually impaired individuals master chords and play their first song entirely through sound, touch, and real-time audio feedback.
How to Use the App
- Enable VoiceOver on your iOS device via Settings > Accessibility > VoiceOver.
- Open StringSensei and navigate using standard VoiceOver gestures — flicks to move between elements and double-taps to activate.
- When prompted during a chord lesson, pluck your guitar string near the device microphone. The app will immediately evaluate your pitch and provide spoken feedback.
Troubleshooting
- The app isn't hearing my guitar Make sure you granted microphone permissions. Go to iOS Settings > StringSensei and confirm the Microphone toggle is turned on.
- I cannot hear the instructions Ensure VoiceOver is active and your device volume is turned up.
